Red Bull Racing has approved $2.5 million to erect a statue of driver Max Verstappen outside its headquarters in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, in recognition of his contributions during his time at Red Bull.

In an official statement, the team confirmed that funding for the monument had been unanimously approved by the Red Bull Racing board. “Max Verstappen left an indelible mark on the sport and on our team. This statue is a lasting tribute to his extraordinary achievements and dedication,” said team principal Christian Horner.

The statue, which will be cast in bronze, is being designed by a world-renowned British artist and is scheduled for unveiling towards the end of 2026. The design depicts Verstappen in his iconic victory gesture after winning his first world title in 2021, a moment that fans and the team believe symbolizes the beginning of a new era in Formula 1.

The statue’s location, directly in front of the main entrance to the Red Bull Racing Technology Centre, was carefully chosen. It not only marks the spot where many of Verstappen’s cars were designed and built, but also serves as a symbol for the future generations of drivers inspired by his legacy.

Jos Verstappen, Max’s father, reacted emotionally to the news: “I know how much effort and sacrifice Max has put into this career. This is a wonderful gesture from Red Bull and something we as a family will cherish forever.”

On social media, fans flooded Red Bull’s channels with messages of congratulations and support. Many called for a section of the Red Bull Racing Museum to be dedicated to Verstappen, including his racing suits, helmets, and a replica of the RB16B in which he won his first title.

While there are currently many rumours surrounding Verstappen’s future after 2026, Red Bull stressed in their statement that this statue has nothing to do with potential negotiations, but is purely a tribute to what he has already achieved.

The statue’s unveiling is expected to be a grand event, with guests from across the motorsport world, including former world champions, team principals, and key figures in Formula 1. Fans will also be allowed to attend the ceremony in limited numbers, with a special draw taking place.

With this tribute, Red Bull once again underscores the unique bond it has built with Verstappen and how deeply his achievements are ingrained in the team’s DNA. The statue will be a symbol not only of success but also of dedication, fighting spirit, and passion—values that Max Verstappen embodies like no other.
